Bryce Salvador has been named captain of the New Jersey Devils, the team's PR department announced via Twitter. Salvador takes over for the departed Zach Parise, who spent a single season as the team's 'leader.'
Reports say Patrik Elias and Ilya Kovalchuk will remain alternate captains.
