My guess at what the Devils outdoor game jerseys will look like
You'll forgive me -- I don't have a steady hand for Photoshop. But this is what I envision the Devils outdoor game jersey will look like. This jersey is actually available with black instead of green, so I just replaced the black with green. But because it has off-white -- and most of the outdoor games go to off-white -- I think I could at least be close here. Please note, however: This is totally unofficial, and I have no knowledge of what the actual jersey is to look like. Your thoughts? Comment here or on Facebook/Twitter.

Lou via Gulitti: Devils will wear red and green at Yankee Stadium
Tom Gulitti, of the Bergen Record, says Lou Lamoriello told him the Devils will wear red and green when they play at Yankee Stadium in January, much like the sweaters worn on throwback night a few years back.
My only question, then, is why is the NHL planning a major unveiling of the jerseys if the Devils will wear ones we've already seen? I still suspect there will be something different about the red and green jerseys that we haven't even seen on them. Maybe the players' numbers on the shoulder area or something quirky like that.
I'd been hoping -- and I've had several discussions about this with my pal Tim on Twitter -- they'd wear white, red and green. But I'll settle for the red and green, for sure.
Your thoughts? Does the NHL need to include special jerseys for the outdoor games? Is it about nostalgia or is it more about the money-making opportunities? Comment here or on Twitter and Facebook.

Uniwatch: Devils’ uniforms are 11th best in NHL

Marty in an original Devils jersey. |
Uniwatch has unveiled its 2013 uniform rankings, and the Devils are at 11th of 30 on that list. They note the Devils have not changed anything about their uniforms since 1992 (save, of course, for a couple throwback nights a couple seasons ago).
That, of course, begs the question — will the Devils wear a throwback of sorts in the Bronx in January?
I suspect they will, perhaps a made-over red Christmas tree jersey.

Uniwatch fan suggests alternate jersey for Devils; I say without reservation: This will NEVER happen
It's not just this concept. The Devils will never have an alternate uniform. But, this is certainly interesting — a concept by Jacob Morris. Thoughts?

Islanders may have found uniforms worse than the Gorton's Fisherman ones
Black doesn't really mix with royal blue well. And yeah. I know. These Islanders uniforms are a year old. But seeing them again — and knowing how nice their traditional ones are — makes me shake my head a bit.
