It's been a while since we made fun of the Islanders — and since they're now 4 points ahead of us after tonight's big win at home against the useless Flyers, let's do just that.
First, the chant. "We want playoffs," screamed the crowd of 13,888 fans. They want the playoffs so badly, they got 13,888 people — many of whom wore orange and black — to do so. But, I suppose it's not so bad for a team with a rich history — and four championships.
And then there's this sign. Which may be as pathetic as the chant, if not more.
Regardless, fellow Devils fans, say it with me once more: "It's likely the Islanders will make the playoffs and we won't." Go ahead, say it now. It'll make it easier when those last two games in Madison Square Garden are for naught.
