Rangers fans, we Devils fans know how you feel today

In 2012, the Devils lost Games 1 and 2 of the Finals in overtime.

So sure, there will be some who say history is on the Kings’ side.

But there is a major difference this go-round.

The Kings won those first two games on the road — in Newark — and then went up 3-0 in the series after winning Game 3 back in Los Angeles. The Rangers have a much bigger advantage over what the Devils had in 2012, by going home for Games 3 and 4.

Sure, 2012 went six games — but this is different. The Rangers are also a team that knows how to overcome a big deficit in a series. They win tonight, it’s a new series. Heck, even if they lose tonight, they’ve still got a chance, as far as I am concerned. But winning tonight would obviously make it easier.

Still, nothing more frustrating than losing the first two games in overtime — but Rangers fans, it could be much worse — you could be heading to Los Angeles. Instead, you head into your own arena, where the atmosphere will be nothing like it was on the Left Coast.

That has got to count for something, right?
