Could the Devils seriously be pushing for Paul Stastny?

Stastny does look good in
an NJ Devils sweater.
Rich Chere, of the Star-Ledger, ramped up speculation today the Devils could seriously be pushing to sign Colorado forward Paul Stastny, son of former Devil Peter Stastny. This kind of move would be quite rare in Devils land — but it would be one that would markedly improve the team.

The speculation comes on the heels of the team’s buyout of Anton Volchenkov, a buyout Lou Lamoriello says wasn’t easy to make.

Here’s what Lou told Chere. This could get very interesting.
“It was a decision to free up money and potentially have the ability to get a forward which we feel we'd like to add. In order to do that, we had to make this move. Also, our young defensemen have to play. So it was a combination of things. It was nothing against Volchenkov. There's nothing he didn't do for us. It was a very, very difficult phone call. It was really to free up cap space.”
We could know more by this time tomorrow.

More when information breaks.
