Devils win pulls them to within 4 points of Caps; Cory finally gets decent offensive output from the team in front of him

Despite all that has happened this season, the Devils are just 4 points behind Washington for second place in the Metropolitan Division of the NHL. Washington does have 2 games in hand, however. Aside from the Islanders, every team in the division is within striking distance of the playoffs -- and if this continues, the race to see who gets in is going to be tremendous. We may be looking at a second half for the ages. (OK maybe that's a little too much).

Meanwhile, Cory Schneider was tremendous tonight -- and the team continues to do absolutely nothing for him offensively. But the finally gave him enough to get a win.

It would, of course, be nice if the guy could get just one game where he doesn’t have to be concerned about his team’s offense. But that just might be asking for too much.
