The mystique of Adam Henrique

I absolutely promised I'd stop going back to Adam Henrique and his OT goal against the New York Rangers on May 25, 2012. And I will. But of course, as the Devils prepare for their first meeting with the New York Rangers tomorrow night, the media is doing a good job of resurrecting what happened last year.

And then, it hit me.

And maybe it's because it was two rounds earlier.

Maybe it's because it wasn't against the Rangers.

Maybe I just can't remember much.

But this guy, as a rookie, won TWO series with overtime goals. Not one. Two.

And that first one, against the Panthers, was in double OT.

It's gonna be a great matchup against the Rangers Tuesday — and don't let them or their fans kid you when they say they want revenge. In the meantime, however, it's just mind-numbing to think of what Henrique did just a few months ago.

We can only hope he comes close to matching that again tomorrow night and beyond.
