Here's a look at what happens when the NHL tries to squeeze in a 3 p.m. game on Long Island on Super Bowl Sunday

You get this.

Each black dot represents open seats (thanks to Ticketmaster's find your own seat, we can now see just how few seats the Islanders actually sell — and it's remarkable, given how well they've been playing).

The Devils and Islanders will be playing in front of very few people today when the puck drops at 3 p.m. ET at the Nassau Coliseum, just three-and-a-half hours before kickoff at the Super Bowl.

I certainly understand the NHL is limited given the lockout (and they've got to get games in) — but come on, start the game at 1 p.m. This is embarrassing.

Upper and lower tier — in the end the Islanders shoot at twice.

Upper corners — end the Islanders shoot at once.

Bench side, corners.

Penalty box side.
