TSN's Bob McKenzie explains how 2013 NHL schedule will work

TSN's Bob McKenzie announced via Twitter how the NHL's 2013 schedule will work.

The season, he says, will be 48 games -- not 50.

Each team will play two divisional opponents four times, and two other divisional opponents five times.  (Should be interesting to see how that works out).

Each team will play the teams in-conference, but not in the same division, at total of three times each.

The schedule will be totally in-conference, meaning no West team will play a team from the East. This was the case in 1995, as well.

McKenzie did not indicate when the schedule would be released, though it is believed it could be ready sometime this weekend.

More information as it becomes available.
