GET BACK THE FANS: NHL Gamecenter Live will cost just $50 for the season, as will Center Ice

NHL Gamecenter Live, which allows fans to watch games on computer and various other devices, will cost just $49.99 for the entire 2013 season. Patrons can pay at once — or in two installments. There is no discount for paying up front.

This equates to about $12.50 a month. Last year, the cost was about $25 a month — so there is a significant drop in price.

I know I will personally buy the package, which offers up to 40 out-of-market games a week in HD (the NHL Center Ice package (which will also be $49.99 for the entire year), on most cable and satellite networks, isn't offered in HD). Plus, the Gamecenter package allows subscribers the option of watching games on phones, tablets and some game consoles.
