UPDATE: Zajac deal is 8 years $46 million

 NEWARK —

 Travis Zajac has signed a "long-term deal" an 8-year, $46 million deal to remain with the Devils for the foreseeable future. As is customary, General Manager Lou Lamoriello did not release deal specifics, but multiple sources released the details.

Under the new CBA, Zajac's contract is the longest allowed. Players can sign eight-year deals with their current teams, and seven-year deals with new teams.
